Annual Meeting Tuesday, June 5, 2012
Memorial Middle School 4:30-5:30
The RTTT School Climate reports have come in for most schools, 3 schools in our district did not meet the 50 % participation rate to get data. We will have to find another way to survey in those buildings.
Advanced Placement Initiative passed this year for the district however; we still have not heard anything about the funding from MMSI.
The FEA Teacher unit participated in Interest Based Bargaining for the first time and has reached a tentative agreement. Information will be shared with staff on June 8 about this agreement.

Katie plans to change the FEA budget year from September 1 to August 31 to a July 1 to June 30 year.
The FEA office will move to a new office on the first floor of the same building as of June 30.
The following are FEA Scholarship Award recipients:

ESP Para Annual Report:
Patty thanked all the members that have spoken to her and Kathy this year and helped make this a successful year.
The Para negotiation team has asked to go into mediation. The School Committee has agreed and they have contacted Tim Fitzgerald (who worked with the teacher unit on IBB) and are looking for a date to meet.
Many Paras have attended MTA trainings this year.
Patty and Kathy have a better understanding of the grievance process and have won all grievances they have brought forward.
They have also attended IBB training and hope to use these skills to come to a palatable contract.
Their goal for next year is to increase Para involvement and get their contract ratified.
Custodial Unit Report:
The custodial unit has also put in a request for IBB and is waiting for a response from School Committee.
Negotiations- Interest Based Bargaining team has made a tentative agreement with the School Committee.
Information about the sections that have language changes will be made available to staff on June 8 sent out through school email and shared with staff.
10 minute building meetings will be held to share the hard copy information about changes and record questions people want to ask of the Negotiation committee at the Ratification Meeting.
Ratification meeting will be on Tuesday, June 12 at Memorial followed by a ratification vote.
A motion was made to hold a ratification meeting on Tuesday, June 12 in the Memorial School Auditorium starting at 4:30 PM with voting on the ratification taking place at the meeting and in buildings on Wednesday, June 13 before school.
